This artist graduated of the prestigious Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia. She won the coveted Cresson Travel Scholarship upon graduation. Her work partakes of the old Master Impressionists. DeFranco Giannini paints En Plein Air and her use of colors and lines is flawless. She lives in a 1920’s farmhouse in rural Pennsylvania and finds her inspiration in the homes’ gorgeous setting where she paints her spectacular flower gardens in the spring and snow landscapes in the winter. Although she is known for her brilliant award-winning, large scale landscape flower gardens, she also paints people in their environments. Cathy is this artist’s sister and is a collector of her work and especially loves her portrait paintings.
